Aloha!
My love of yoga inspired me to become a yoga teacher and now it has become one of my greatest joys. Sharing this passion and inspiring others is deeply rewarding. When students leave my class saying that they feel more relaxed, happier, and more connected spiritually it makes my heart soar! When I’m not teaching I enjoy traveling, preparing healthy meals, and all things in nature, especially my butterfly garden.
I’ll never forget my first yoga class about 11 years ago; the beginning of my yoga journey leaving that evening class feeling so energized yet peaceful & calm at the same time. The drive home was as if I was flying high, untethered, a feeling I now experience regularly. I’ll be forever grateful to both Anna Bazalar and Hope Ramirez, two of my teachers that I love and have learned so much from.
Since then I completed a 200-hour teacher training in beautiful Costa Rica and returned from that training with the desire and vision to teach outdoors by the ocean on my island home of 40+ years, Kauai! The Universe brought Anya and I together and I now teach regularly for her with Kauai Yoga on the Beach. In 2023 I decided to dive into the 300-hour teacher training and traveled to Chiangmai, Thailand where I obtained my teaching certificate giving me a total of 500 hours of training.
My class includes visitors and island residents and would best be described as a slow flow Vinyasa that incorporates breath work, meditation, stretching and balancing. I’ve been described by my students as being calm, present, and caring with “good” energy. They appreciate the details I offer in my cueing and modifications offered in some of the postures. I consider my class open to everyone so I hope to see you at the 7th Annual Kauai Yoga and Peace Festival on October 5th, 2024 on the oceanfront lawn of Kauai Shores Hotel. My 8:30am class will include a special meditation on Peace.
